Slugger Shavings 2065.2 - Lindsay Joins Louisville Organization As Coach

In a move that surprised many across the BBA, the Louisville Sluggers announced the signing of recently retired Barney Lindsay as the pitching coach for the Single A Ocala Seminoles. Lindsay, who ended his career with the Sluggers in 2064 after signing for the league minimum to help push the team to the playoffs, was expected to join the Bluebirds organization where he spent the bulk of his career. Lindsay pitched poorly in 19 games out of the bullpen for the Sluggers, but that appears not to have dissuaded the organization from trying to secure his services as a coach.

"I likely would have signed up to coach somewhere for the Bluebirds," Lindsay admitted. "But they never got back to me, and GM BP quickly stepped in with a nice offer. How cool to be working for Kwak to start my coaching career?"

Lindsay is of course referring to Sluggers legend and hall of fame Semei Kwakou, who currently manages the Seminoles.

"Barney was always tough to face," noted Kwakou. "We had a lot of fun going up against each other all those years. And now he is up for the hall. Can you imagine Ocala having two hall of famers on staff? These kids are really going to love playing here. I am really looking forward to what Barney can teach Clarence Oveur. He has been watching too many gladiator movies."
