An unnamed BBA owner and part-time Louisville scout first noticed Mercati's new offering while trying to lowball Chief Slugger Shaw for various talents. Shaw immediately called off further trade robbery negotiations in order to buy out Mercati's last arb year at a ludicrous $2.2m.
