LOU stumbled to the 2043 finish line, losing five in a row and seven of their last 10, so GM Shaw's usual predictions of doom-and-gloom were not met with the usual derision and hostility. That's probably because there were no predictions at all, as GM Shaw had pretty much checked out. The derision and hostility is always there, though. He feels it.

Somehow, despite missing two of the best SP in BBA, LOU managed to take the opening series from San Fernando 3-1, and it wasn't especially close, LOU scoring 39 runs to SFB's 17. CF Théo Bourges won the Geoghegan Round MVP Award with a 1.861 OPS, and SP Stan Palácios continues his personal war on the supremacy of K-rate, only giving up 4 hits in 12.1 innings over 2 starts.
