LF Brett White helped LOU make the 2043 playoffs despite major injuries to three superstars. White came over in the blockbuster RF Donald Miller deal with Omaha, which saw an infinite number of players shift teams in an infinite number of trades. Or at least that's what it felt like to all who observed it in real-time.
White was defensively challenged in LOU's cavernous OF, but put up a completely respectable 115 wRC+. More importantly, his 31 HR were exactly what LOU needed in über-star CF Théo Bourges's absence.
White came to LOU despite an uncertain contract future, and spent all season adamant that he would seek greener pastures in FA, or at least more green. After a long night of negotiations fueled by GHB, White finally signed a reasonable four-year contract extension worth a total of $32,000,000, with two team options tacked onto the end.
