Slugger Shavings 2040.02 - Two RoY candidates lead the way

LOU would not have made the playoffs without two rookie SP, SP Armando 'Commie Child' Feliciano and SP Stan Palácios. The two rookies' work is not done, however, as each will get at least one start in the Geoghegan Round, with Commie Child being in position to pitch a deciding 5th game if necessary.

The two rookies put up similar stats, with one main difference: Commie Child did his work in 15 fewer starts.

Commie Child: 10-2, 4.37 FIP, 14.29 K%, 4.48 BB%, 3.36 HR%
Palacios: 11-7, 4.526 FIP, 16.41 K%, 3.68 BB%, 3.96 HR%

While both will get consideration for RoY, voters should keep in mind the following: Commie Child only pitched in 13 games, and Palacios led all qualified rookies in K/BB, BB/9, and win %, and it wasn't close.

Commie Child has a lot of filling out left to do, so LOU fans (all 2 of them) hope he stays healthy during his rigorous offseason conditioning and workout program in Cuba.
