Slugger Shavings 2039.4 - Good starts are better than bad starts

Post by sjshaw » Thu Jun 27, 2019 9:29 pm

The rebuild of the Louisville Sluggers began in earnest several weeks ago with a million trades, but reality began to set in today as the new-look Sluggers took the field for Opening Day.

Luckily, today was a good day for reality, and the future. It's like a Terminator movie up in here.

New #1 SP Augusto Sánchez went 2-0 with a 3.00 ERA (don't look at the advanced stats). New #2 SP Lando Klomp gave up 2 hits in 6 innings in a 2-1 loss vs. NO.

On the hitting side, super-stud rookie RF Semei Kwakou tallied a 1.119 OPS, hitting his first BBA HR vs. BRK and putting himself on pace for 8.2 WAR. Our other super-stud rookie CF Ronnie Hubbard did even better, putting up a 1.259 OPS and being on pace for a breathtaking 14.5 WAR. Because those 1st sim projections are always right, you know?

While winning 3 games isn't great for getting the high draft picks we desperately need, seeing our young guys kick ass is satisfying. On to next sim!
