We saved our best baseball for the end of the season, finishing the last month (+2 games in Oct) of they year 18-11, and managed a nice little 83-79 record. Sure, it's third in the division, but we see this team as burgeoning, and we are happy with the overall results.
We are pretty sure the Rookie of the Year is coming out of Greenville this season. Aaron Hayes looks like a truly unique talent, dominating the basepaths, collecting tons of hits, and setting up the offense for the Shiners. He couldn't have had a better rookie season, leading the league in SB and hits, finishing second in AVG, and 3rd in VORP.
Young Jake Urban also had a strong rookie showing, after being called up around mid-season. His OPS trended up every month he played, and he enjoyed considerable success over the last few weeks of the season. He could be the power bat that this lineup is missing, assuming he can grow a little more into that talent. We're concerned about his reverse platoon split, but see him as a potential All Star up the middle.
Lots of notables...hitting on Haim's performance down the stretch; he's a huge reason we finished strong, and pulled above .500 for the season. He was 3-1 with a 1.76 ERA in September. I dare you to find a better control specialist. Haim walked just 15 batters over 210 IP this season, delivering his finest performance since coming into the league three seasons ago. He can't break glass with his fastball, as you can tell by his paltry 98 K's on the year, but he does not waste any pitches when he is on the mound.

So all Corey had to do is go from the beaches of Hawaii to the backwaters of South Carolina and his career was revived...
trade me Aaron Hayes.

Remind me again why I didn't draft Daniel Labrie? Stupid, stupid. Hayes is awesome!
