Dugout Dirt 48.09 - When One Door Opens - Another Closes

Post by DugoutDesperado » Tue Oct 19, 2021 9:23 pm

During the 2047 season, the Jacksonville bullpen was anchored by Jose Castro. The closer did not disappoint registering 42 saves with a 2.25 ERA. Castro would not re-sign with the Canes even though the Canes were willing to extend his $2M salary and he ended up in Boise on a $1.2M salary and has 4 saves with a 2.21 ERA as a member of the Spuds in a Tator Tot non-closing role.

In 2048, the Canes decided to promote Cristo Munoz and his $2.1M salary into the closer role. Thus far this season, Munoz has registered a BBA leading 37 saves with an ERA of 1.93 while racking up 71 strikeouts in 60 innings of work. Out of the 63 appearances to date, 40 of those games were save opportunities meaning that Muoz has only blown 3 saves so far this season.

Lets hope that these numbers continue.
