Dugout Dirt 48.02 - Canes win 6 to 2

The Canes won their second game in a row by prevailing with a score of 6 to 2 over the New Orleans Crawdads.

The Canes broke into the scoring column in the bottom of the first with a David Simpson sacrifice fly. Jose Zuniga scored in the second on a balk and followed it up with a two-RBI double in the third. Jeremy Pickens also chipped in with a RBI double.

Edgardo Encarnacion closed out the Jacksonville scoring for the game with a RBI double.

Zuniga went 3 for 4 with 2 RBI’s on the day.

Peter Dean (3-4) gained the win giving up 2 runs in 6 innings while striking out 7. Cristo Munoz notched his 21st save of the season by getting the final out in the 9th.

The win results in the Canes’ record going to 47-38.
