It seems that the Canes' front office has held off as long as possible. With the rainout against Mexico City earlier this week and a doubleheader now scheduled, the Canes are using this as an opportunity to call up Scott Davis.
Davis is scheduled to pitch at this point when Jacksonville visits Montreal in their series opener. As Davis stepped off the plane in Jacksonville prior to meeting up with the team in Montreal, he was grinning from ear to ear. Davis stated, "I have had some excellent coaches along the way in my two and a half years in the Jacksonville organization. I just hope that I can use this learning when I step onto the mound on the big stage."
To make room for this roster change, Nick Mobley was sent to the AAA team in Gotham. Mobley had a 2-5 record with a 7.65 ERA in 16 starts for the Canes this season.

Tough game for Davis as he had a 7-1 lead but the pen couldn't hold on.
