Post by DugoutDesperado » Sat Jan 02, 2021 5:59 pm

In this installment of the Pitching Prospect Tracker (PPT) where a game is analyzed for a pitcher within the Canes’ farm system, the focus will be on Ken Covey.

The 19 year-old right hander pitched against the Roswell Aliens on 9-Jul-2045. The Port Arthur Pythons was on the winning end of an 5 to 4 score. Covey was not involved in the decision leaving his Rookie league record at 1-3. During the game, Covey pitched 6 innings allowing 3 earned runs on 5 hits while walking 3 and striking out 6. Out of his 95 pitches thrown, 54 of those pitches were for strikes.

This performance left Covey with a 5.11 ERA and a 1.38 WHIP in 7 starts for the Pythons.

"It felt good to have better control of my pitches today. The offense really brought the bats at a few key points in the game.", Covey said after the game.
