The Canes tried to upgrade one of their positions of need by signing right-fielder Anastasio Lopez to a two-year/$32M contract. The 27 year-old should provide some more offense than recently departed Mitsuhide Suzuki.
Anastasio is a large national following so the season ticket sales went up within 24 hours of his signing, a close spokesman to the Canes’ front office was heard saying.
