The Canes got all they needed in the bottom of the second inning thanks to a three-run shot off the bat of Omer Dijkstra which was his 11th homer of the season. The Canes added one more run in the fourth on a Juan Lopez RBI single.
Dijkstra and Daryl Pris both had two hits on the day.
Alejandro Ramirez (2-6) had a strong outing allowing 1 run in 5 innings. Fernando Guerrero notched his 20th save by pitching a perfect 9th inning.
Ruben Vazquez (7-5) absorbed the loss giving up 4 runs in 5 innings.
The win improves the Canes’ record to 28-27.
