The Canes rebounded from last night’s defeat to beat the Robins from Brooklyn by a score of 5 to 3.
After falling behind 1 to 0 in the first, the Canes came back to score two in the second on a fielders choice by
Omer Dijkstra and a sac fly by
Gui Jen. The Canes scored another in the 5th on a Jen solo shot and then another in the 6th on Jen’s second sac fly of the night. The final Canes’ run came on a single by Dijkstra.
Dijkstra and
Juan Lopez both collected two hits for the Canes on the day.
Carlos Rodriguez (5-1) pitched 6 innings allowing 3 runs and striking out 8.
Fernando Guerrero notched his 17th save of the season by pitching a perfect 9th inning.
Luis Espinosa (3-5) allowed 5 runs in 7 innings.
The win improves the Canes’ record to 24-25.
