The Canes defeated the visiting Pikemen from Rockville in 13 innings by a score of 4 to 3.
The Canes jumped out to a 3 to 0 lead after the 4th inning was completed. Two of those runs came courtesy of
Jose Zuniga’s bat with his 10th homer of the season in the first inning. The other run came in the 4th inning after
Jeremy Pickens tripled and
Omer Dijkstra brought him in with a grounder to second that resulted in a fielder’s choice.
After the Pikemen scored three runs tie the game,
Daryl Pris drew a bases-loaded walk that scored
Gui Jen.
Pickens went 3 for 6 on the day.
John Bartlett (1-0) pitched a scoreless top of the 13th to gain the win.
Dave Houston (0-2) absorbed the loss.
The win improves the Canes’ a record to 11-15.
