The Canes' front office just directions from the previous two drafts and did not go after pitching with the early pick. Instead, the Canes went after 19 year-old 1B George Washington.
George currently projects to be a .270/.280 hitter along with the potential to hit 40 HR's. With the glove, George should also be able to hold his own in the field as well.
