The Canes won their third in a row against the Pikemen from Rockville by a score of 5 to 4.
After allowing a run in the bottom of the first, the Canes scored twice in the second on run-scoring singles by
Juan Lopez and
Pancho Costa. The Canes added another run in the sixth via a solo homer off the bat of
Gui Jen. The back-breakers for the Pikemen were the solo homers delivered by
Jose Zuniga and
Omer Dijkstra in the top of the 9th.
On the day, Daryl Pris, Jen and Costa each collected three hits.
Cristo Munoz (2-0) gained the win by pitching a perfect 8th inning while
Fernando Guerrero got his third save of the young season by pitching a scoreless 9th.
Dave Houston (0-1) was tagged with the loss giving up two runs in one inning of work.
The win improves the Canes’ a record to 4-1.
