The Canes scored two runs in the first on Pancho Costa’s 12th home run of the season. Jacksonville also scored three more in the second with Jeremy Pickens’ 2nd homer of the year. Julio Uribe and Alejandro Rodriguez each collected three hits on the day.
Alfonzo Guzman (2-1) gained the win in relief by allowing one run in 2.1 innings and striking out three. John Barlett closed out the game by pitching 2.2 innings without allowing a run.
Adergazos Quakili (2-3) was tagged with the loss as he gave up five runs in four innings.
The win improves the Canes’ record to 29-28.
