The Hurricanes won their second in a row by beating visiting Aztecs from Mexico City by a score of 4 to 1.
The Canes scored two runs in the first with a run-scoring single by Pacio Nobre and a RBI groundout by Jose Zuniga. Zuniga also homered in the 4th and the 6th innings to give him a season total of 20. Both nObre and Zuniga went 2 for 4 on the day.
Sabir Askeri (7-1) gained the win by going 8 innings while allowing 1 run on 3 hits while striking out 9. Fernando Guerrero gained his 20th save iof the season by pitching a perfect 9th inning.
Bob Glenn (3-3) was tagged with the loss as he gave up four runs in seven innings.
The win improves the Canes’ record to 28-28.
