The Canes scored two runs early in the bottom of the first with Mitsuhide Suzuki hitting his 9th dinger of the season. The Canes scored again in the second on a Julio Uribe RBI single. Uribe drove in two more runs in the 4th with another single. Jose Zuniga hit his 17th home run of the year to start off the bottom of the 5th and Daryl Pris a RBI single. The Canes closed out their portion of the scoring in the 6th with a run-scoring Suzuki single after a Julio Uribe triple. Julio Uribe went 4 for 5 on the day from the plate.
Nick Mobley (4-5) gained the win by going 6.1 innings while allowing 1 runs on 6 hits. Fernando Guerrero gained his 19th save in 19 opportunities by getting the final two outs.
Kusuma Djojohadiksumo (3-5) was tagged with the loss as he gave up six runs in four innings.
The win improves the Canes’ record to 27-28.
