Dugout Dirt 2043.05 - Arbitration Day Looms for Jacksonville

Post by DugoutDesperado » Wed May 27, 2020 1:36 pm

As Arbitration Day approaches, there are eight players in the Canes; fold that are eligible for arbitration.

Only one is expected not to get an arbitration offer. That would be 30 year-old SP Byung-doo Yi. During the 2042 season, Byung-doo spent the season in AAA prior to getting hurt for about two months with elbow inflammation. During the season, he started 14 games with a 4-4 record and a 4.40 ERA. Byung-doo stuck out 87 batters in 77 innings.

The following players are expected to receive arbitration offers:
SP Jesus Lopez $500K -> $650K
C Mike Schofield - $500K -> $750K
2B Juan Lopez - $500K -> $650K
SS Daryl Pris - $500K -> $1.2M
RF – Mitsuhide Suzuki - $750K -> $850K
3B – Alejandro Rodriguez - $1.6M -> $1.8M
RP – Gonzalo Mercado - $900K -> $1M

If all of the arbitrations go through, the team payroll is expected to increase between $1.5M and $2M.
