On the tail end of a trading frenzy, 17 out of the 35 players were given their cup of coffee via the September call-ups. Many of those players experienced many quality innings over that month. The Coffee Shop Series will summarize the player’s performance over the last month. This edition will review John Bartlett.
John made 8 relief appearances during the call-up where he pitched for 11.2 innings. The 100 mph flamethrower He registered 7 strikeouts while issuing 5 walks. John’s ERA for the month was 6.17 but 9 of the 10 earned runs were given up in 2 of the 8 outings.
These stats came on the heels of John spending the prior portion of 2042 with the Black Hills AAA club before being traded to Jacksonville. John was 8-8 with 2 saves and a 3.63 ERA while pitching 125 innings as a starter and a reliever.
Probability on being in the 2043 opening day lineup: John appears to have an inside track to be one of the main relievers in the Jacksonville bullpen at the beginning of the 2043 season.
