Dugout Dirt 48.08 - Canes Extend Julio Uribe

Post by DugoutDesperado » Sun Oct 10, 2021 11:36 pm

The Canes have agreed to terms on a multi-year deal with left-fielder, Julio Uribe, this past week. The terms of the deal were for $31M over a 3 year period with the next year coming in at $8M.

Uribe was acquired by the Canes in 2042 as part of the Rocky Allen trade. Over the last 5 and a half seasons, Costa has hit 52 HRs while hitting .329. All in all this has accounted for 16.3 WAR during this time period including a 3.9 WAR last season.

When questioned after the game, Uribe stated, “I feel that as an organization, Jacksonville has been good to me and my family. The Station is a fun atmosphere to call home.” The Canes front office has now taken care of Uribe and Pancho Costa. No doubt, their sights will now be set on Omer Dijkstra and Jeremy Pickens if they can figure out a way to make it fit under the cap.

Uribe is leading the Canes bat in batting average this season with a .347 clip.
