The Canes scored twice in the bottom of the first thanks to a two-run single by Alejandro Rodriguez. The Canes scored again on a RBI single by Daryl Pris in the second. Raul Valdez scored in the fourth on a balk and Jose Moran hit a two-run homer in the sixth to close out the Jacksonville scoring.
Carlos Rodriguez (4-0) was credited with the win by allowing 3 runs in 6.2 innings while striking out 7. Fernando Guerrero recorded his 14th save of the season by pitching a scoreless 9th inning.
Feliciano Rafael (1-5) absorbed the loss giving up six runs in five innings.
The win improves the Canes’ record to 18-24.
