Today, the Hurricanes announced the signing of one of the best defensive catchers in the history of the game, Paul Scholes.
Scholes was the starting catcher for the Canes from mid-2032 until mid-2035, winning his only league title but none of his 7 Zimmer Awards.
Scholes commented that Rookie Ball wasn't, "exactly where I wanted to start." But he commented that he was, "happy to finally have an opportunity as a manager."
At his weekly presser, Simmons had glowing remarks for Scholes. "We think he will be a fantastic manager and were surprised he had not been snapped up in the two years since his retirement from the BBA. Scholes was an incredibly smart player, was one of the best in the game at managing a pitching staff, and was a great teammate on and off the field.
