Brooklyn State of Mind: Morales Jr. Signs Extention (2057.14)

Emilio Morales Jr. has vindicated the potential that those in Brooklyn hoped, and this week finally got his contract secured. After buying out his last year of arbitration, Emilio will be making 11.6 million a year starting in 2059 and is signed through 2061 with a player option for 2062 should he choose to exercise it. Getting this done was a key step for the Robins, who now avoid a contract saga and get Morales Jr. locked up with some cost certainty at a price that isn't too exorbitant in a salary capped league. "I'm thrilled to have gotten this contract done with Mr. Ganesh, Ben, and my representatives. Brooklyn has been a great place to call home through my career, and it's been a pleasure to already be 6 wins clear of our record last year. There is more talent coming through the minors, and the front office deserves credit for being willing to get talent. Signing this deal was a no brainer, and if we continue on this path then the Robins can take the next step next year."

Morales Jr. has a couple of milestones that he can hit over the final few weeks that the Robins fans can pay attention to. He is trying to hit .300 for the year, get to 40 home runs, and drive in 100 runs. All in all, Emilio has plenty of reasons to be happy about 2057. And unlike Latrell Sprewell, he can feed his family comfortably.

Don’t worry, I’m not mad at you or the GB. I’m fine taking the void and the fine, as that’s in the rules and this league does a great job enforcing them equally and fairly. What I’m not happy about the rule itself will be explained after the sim is run.
