"Not so fast, my friend" was one of the iconic catchphrases of ESPN college football analyst Lee Corso on many a College GameDay broadcast. As it turns out, the Robins have been active again in the free agent market, signing Pancho Costa on a 1 year deal. Costa may be on the back nine of his career, but the guy has been doing it at a high level, and brings a strong aura of success that the Robins have looked to impart among the X Generation. So far, Costa hasn't been doing a great job, but considering he didn't get the benefit of spring training, hasn't been doing horribly as he is getting eased in. The Robins now have another slugger to improve their offense, and that allows management to shuffle Costa in to spell the other sluggers as needed.
The Robins have been a decent surprise this year, as they are currently sitting 5th in the Atlantic with a record of 14-18. While it looks like the Frontier will be the stronger division in the Johnson based on the early success of Las Vegas, Edmonton, Mexico City, and Rocky Mountain, the Atlantic has been pretty tight this year and should be a compelling race that shouldn't be overlooked by the Heartland elitists.
