Brooklyn State of Mind: Robins Bolster Back End Of the Bullpen (2054.4)

Post by lordtoffee » Tue Feb 14, 2023 11:41 pm

The Brooklyn Robins have been very active in free agency and the trade market this offseason. Between the trade with Louisville and the McBride signing, the Robins are giving their fans some hope that 2054 will be a step in the right direction and the fanbase has responded. The Robins continued to augment their roster surrounding the X Generation by announcing the signing of free agent reliever and closer Francisco Concepción from the Seattle Storm.

The bullpen has been in need of getting an additional arm or two to better provide some security at the back end to compliment Arnold Cantrell, and Concepcion will be that guy. His numbers have been trending very well in Seattle, and having that bridge between an improved rotation and Cantrell was identified as a place where the Robins could make an investment. Robins Chief Baseball Officer Ben Heuring was happy at Concepcion's introductory press conference at Ebbets Field. "Getting Francisco to join Brooklyn is something that is going to be exciting. The entire front office team has been pleased to see that the Robins have gotten better, and this offseason is so young. It's gratifying to see that the fans have been excited about what the 2054 Robins will have in store for them. However, there is still work to do in process of building up the Robins to get where we want to be. But make no mistake, the Robins are in a better place then they were on the last day of the season."
