Welcome back to WFAN Radio here in New York City. The Islanders lost last night to the Kraken on the Island, the Knicks are getting ready to host the Sixers tonight at the Garden, and rumors are swirling that the Big East might be expanding further in the latest wave of conference realignment. But we start this hour with a press release that has been sent out by the Robins. It is Free Agency Filing Day in the BBA, and the Robins are coming off a season where they finished last in the Atlantic yet again. The press conference was announced within the last hour, and was sent to all the major media outlets in the Robins viewing area.
"The Brooklyn Robins have scheduled a press conference tonight where the Chief Baseball Officer and GM Ben Heuring will be available to the media. The press conference will take place at Ebbets Field in the media room, and we will issue no further comment."
Look, I don't know what that means. Rumors have been swirling that the Robins made a trade, and that the rumored "Playoff Locked In Watch Party" among Robins executives every night of the playoffs at various delis around Brooklyn have been bandied about that this offseason might be interesting. When reached for comment earlier, Heuring said "You'll see later on."
