Brooklyn State of Mind : How Will the New Salary Cap Impact The Robins (2052.5)

Post by lordtoffee » Tue Nov 08, 2022 4:01 pm

With the announcement by the BBA Governing Board that the salary cap is getting an extra 10 million worth of room, there have been lots of discussions on the private BBA groups and among fans across the league.

While the Robins are going to have another high draft pick to work with in the next BBA draft, the Robins do have plans with the money. They plan to add payroll after doing a deep dive review of their farm system. The 10 million in extra cap room is one very good to star level player, and there is no real consensus among if that money should go to one player or be divided up. As of 2053, the Robins will have 60 million in cap space, and the expectation is that a lot of the youngsters in the minors that form the 4th best farm system in the league will be fast tracked to the big leagues. And rumors are swirling that some cash will be added to go after some marquee free agents to bolster the youth and build up that fan interest that is so critical.

So while the Robins aren't in a cap crunch, the future looks brighter with more cap room to play with. So don't be surprised if Emilio Morales Jr, Stephen Clulow Jr, and other top prospects to join the big club for spring training with a real shot to make the BBA roster surrounded by imported talent. And nobody on the BBA roster is safe from being replaced.
