While even the most ardent Robins fan will admit that a playoff berth is unlikely at this stage, the Robins have certainly been one of the more active teams in BBA free agency. At a press conference at McDermott Park at Ebbets Field, the Robins were clearly pleased to announce that Lorenzo de Medici is now a Brooklyn Robin, signing a two year deal at just over 18 million. de Medici will likely be the team's closer this year, and he needs no introduction as he has been someone who has been a very good BBA player across multiple organizations.

His jersey has quickly become one of the best sellers at the official Robins team store at both the Brooklyn and Manhattan locations, and Robins Twitter has been incredibly excited about the acquisition. While most would agree that the Robins are probably not going to take huge strides forward this year, free agency combined with the number one pick in the next BBA draft gives some real hope to a fanbase that is eager to latch on to this team in the midst of the rebuild. The Fan Interest has gone up, and hopefully with an improved record and increased attendance means that the Robins can go from a team who would love to win some more games into a team that can get back to getting into the playoffs.
