Brooklyn State of Mind: Robins Resign Erementi (2052.1)

Post by lordtoffee » Tue Aug 23, 2022 11:17 pm

Robins fans won't have to make due with Fanatics Jersey Insurance for at least one of their best players this offseason. At the start of free agency, the team can officially announce that All Star catcher Geraldo Erementi for 6 years at an average price of $9 million a year. This was one of three major objectives that the front office was pursuing in the offseason, and to get this deal done was worth it. Erementi brings plus offense at the catcher position, and shows that the team is going to start putting in the building blocks to become competitive.

Chief Baseball Officer Ben Heuring was incredibly pleased at the press conference, with a big smile on his face. "Getting Erementi to stay here shows that he believes in the project we are building, especially in light of what happened last year. With a farm system that is on the rise and offers being extended to bolster the big club, Robins fans can look forward to a team that is going to be better positioned to compete in the Atlantic. I'm not going to promise a 40 win turnaround or anything, but we are on track to where we want to be."
