Brooklyn State of Mind: What Fire Sale? (2049.5)

Post by lordtoffee » Mon Feb 07, 2022 8:40 pm

Despite a rumored public call for trades, it ended up to be a quiet end to the season. As the Robins played out the dog days of the season to a deserted stadium, there was no moves. So at least for now, all of the stars of the team will stay in the team that might be the biggest smoking gun. As the President of Baseball Operations, Ben Heuring has been rumored to be watching the BBA playoffs in nothing but a shirt and pajama pants and eating nothing but Katz's Deli and ice cream straight out of the container.

With a rumored exodus coming in the offseason, it is going to be very likely that a lot of salary could be coming off the books. Rumors are that might be a Jim Armstrong, a Carlos Pineda opt out, and others. But needless to say, the front office has been hard at work looking at potential replacements to begin building a new Robins team that will be very different. There is even a rumor that Mickey Loomis, the salary cap wizard of the New Orleans Saints has been spotted outside the Robins team store with Heuring on how to maneuver a salary cap that looks tight.

Considering that he's deferred so many salaries, I wouldn't be surprised if he made a deal with the devil.
