Brooklyn State of Mind: Gerardo Named Robins Player of the Year (2048.5)

Anyone that follows the BBA will probably agree that the Robins aren't going to win a bunch of league wide awards. It is a sentiment that most would agree on upon the secretive and rumored BBA GM board. And no, I'm not going to confirm or deny those rumors. But the Robins still have hope for the future. A strong farm system hopefully can bear fruit, and with the possibility of a new set of heroes to come allows Robins fans to dream again. But Geraldo Eremitani was someone who made the Robins watchable.

The catcher hit for power, average, and was a decent game caller despite the pitching staff having some severe issues that were documented and savaged by the Brooklyn press. But Geraldo was loyal to a fault, and continued to get behind the plate no matter what, and he is going to be someone who should get a decent arby number. He was able to represent the organization at the All Star Game, and he might have been the only reason to watch the Robins if you didn't have an interest in the game as a neutral fan. But the best players can make any team watchable. Thank you, Geraldo. That is why you are the player of the year for the Robins, and may you have a better team around you next year.
