Brooklyn State of Mind: Robins Swing Pitching Focused Trade With Nine (2048.2)

The Robins continued to try and revamp their team, swinging a trade with the Yellow Springs Nine that will generate a lot of debate. In exchange for Lorenzo Herrera, the Robins have acquired Lester Arundel, Ernesto Martas, and Ernesto Ramos. Some Robins fans are wondering what exactly President of Baseball Operations Ben Heuring is playing at, as the Robins aren't supposed to be good. Is this a ploy to get Nine fans to come to Ebbets Field? The answer is no, and there are actual baseball reasons for making this trade.

When you looked at the Robins last year, the pitching was atrocious, and clearly needed a rethink. From the Robin perspective, it was worth a shot to get all three of the pitchers on the trade block, and when combined with a very high draft pick plus another comp pick coming, this is a way to stay competitive while improving the farm system, which is currently 9th best in the BBA. "This trade is going to be a good one. Lester, Ernesto, and Ernesto all have very good stuff, and will add some depth and experience to our rotation. With potentially 3 new members of the rotation ready to make their Robin debuts, better get season tickets right now. Because before long, you won't be able to." The President of Baseball Operations was confident at the press conference, and wanted to show that the Robins still want to compete, and attempt to patch up holes in the team.

Yeah, I'd make that trade.
Good luck with it.
