Brooklyn State of Mind: What About the Other Robins Futures Game Representive? (2047.6)

After the last team news took a look at the best pitcher in the Robins pipeline, it would only be fair to look at the best position player in the farm system. Chris McFadden is one of the more interesting prospects that the Robins have, and had the honor of being named to multiple All Star Games, if you count the Futures Game as an All Star Game. A center fielder by trade, McFadden is currently rated the 22nd best prospect by the Baseball America ranking, and was an easy choice to be named the Farm System Position Player of the Year by the Robins at their annual awards night at Katz's Deli last night.

But McFadden wasn't supposed to be a future Robin, as he failed to sign with Des Moines out of high school, when he was the 5th pick. Whatever the reason, the Robins were glad to pick up McFadden as the possible center fielder of the future in the later half of the first round of the draft in 2046. But after having his first pro season derailed by injury, McFadden took off with Short A George Town, where he hit .300 and showed a lot of promise, where he got a late cameo at A ball Twin Pines, where he should be expected to start the season with the goal to reach AA or AAA ball before getting a spring invite in 2048.

Robins fans are excited about McFadden, as they view him as a good compliment to whomever the Robins pick in the draft to be the new face of the team as they look to start what might be a rebuild as they look to compete in the Atlantic soon. With his speed, glove, and contact, one can already see him as the leadoff hitter of the future who will give opposing teams problems at the top of the order.

McFadden certainly looks to be a pretty good prospect, even if he's a bit of a late bloomer.

Yeah, he's taken a step forward recently, which is nice to see and fairly realistic.
