Brooklyn State of Mind: Robins Attempt To Hire Talons Team News Crew (2047.2)

It might be another long season of Robins baseball, but that isn't stopping President of Baseball Operations and GM Ben Heuring from holding a press conference that bewildered the New York Media. Rumors were swirling that Pierre Legrand might get traded, as a rumored leak from a disgruntled former staffer found it's way into the Brooklyn Eagle. But, instead it was something else. Heuring smiled as he walked to the podium, and had another plan for the press conference.

"Good afternoon, and thanks for joining us before our game against the Mexico City Aztecs. No, this isn't about any trades. Why the long faces, guys? No, it's not a shock free agent acquisition. What this is about is a public job offer. You see, I know that the Robins team news has been by my own admission. We've been trying to address it, as the salary cap applies only to players. Thanks to the ownership group, I am please to announce that the Brooklyn Robins are going to make a public offer of employment to the members of the media department that was laid off from Phoenix."

Stunned faces looked around, and wondered if Heuring had gone mad. Well, no more than normal. Heuring then continued. "Yeah, we might as well take a chance. I mean, this is Brooklyn. And it's not like there aren't things happening around here that they could work with."
