Brooklyn State of Mind:#WeMightNotBeTooBad (2046.2)

Sorry for stealing a line from Nigel

It was a warm day in Flatbush, the type of day that one felt the ghosts of Snider, Jackie, Newcombe, and the rest of the fabled Bums teams of the old Brooklyn Dodgers. Would they be happy with the current state of the Robins at this point in the season? Well, they probably would be. A team that is right up against the salary cap, a team who was predicted to be the worst in in the division, is sitting in a wild card spot in May. Well, that doesn't make a lot of sense. This team is superstars and not so superstars, but it turns out that they have been successful in one key metric. Winning on the road. The Robins have 15 wins away from home, which is the most in the Johnson. Looking throughout the bigs, only the Black Sox, Nine, and the Storm have won more so far. And, the Robins have only played 16 games away from Flatbush.

So far, Duane Whitley Jr has been a good value signing. The free agent signing from the Mad Popes has been getting on base and providing the extra bat in the infield to compliment the Golden Twins in the outfield, and might end up being a decent signing who would validate the front office's decision to start to think about a retool at the end of the year to deal with the cap crunch that is coming.

All I know is that if Brooklyn stays hot, there will be some choices to make.

You’re welcome to the hashtag lol. I would have liked to keep Duane in Wichita, he was our only real star at that time but he wanted to try winning for a change :D
