The Al-Time Robin Lineup Announced

Recently I noticed that Brooklyn leads the league in complete games. Which to some might be a throwaway stat, but to others in the know, it's actually quite the feat. I've always tinkered with pitching schemes and relied heavily on my bullpen throughout the years. I went to statsplus to try to see if the 13 we have this season is more then my previous seasons combined. I still have not found the answer. It's probably there somewhere but the thing with statsplus….. You go there looking for one thing and come out with 15 other things and forgot what you came for in the first place. I ended up feeling nostalgic and looked at my teams all time leaders from 2026-present day. I figured why not make an "Al-time Robin Lineup". Keep in mind that our team was always mixing and matching and never about acquiring young superstars. So this team is more fun and sentimental then "hey look how awesome my players were. Cause that was never really the case.

note: my love for puns outweighed my dislike for being called Al.

Catcher
Image
Sam Adams
I guess it's fitting that Adams is first. He is the player I didn't want, yet learned to love. Known for his power bat, cannon arm and signature handlebar moustache, the Brooklyn S-lager is 2nd in batter WAR during this span. He is also 2nd in HR and of course 2nd in strikeouts as well. Adams played a total of 6 seasons in Brooklyn. 4 of which were under my watch.

First Base
Image
Cisco 'Nightmare' Guerrero
Cisco was my most bold and blatant free agent signing. At least up until that point. Brooklyn was coming off a downturn and the overpay for Nightmare came out of nowhere. Yet he was the first big piece that lifted the Robins on a meteoric ride to the 2035 Cartwright Cup. That season alone puts Cisco on our list. He doesn't hold a top 5 in any counting stat. However he is solidly planted in the 6-10 range on most everything. It's also a testament to our team building. 1B is usually an after thought.

Second Base
Image
Richard Drouin
One of two current members to crack our Al-Time Starting lineup. Drouin is perhaps one of the most under rated players in the BBA. If he played in the Heartland he'd probably have a podcast devoted to him. At just 22 years of age, Richard has already cracked the top 10 in WAR and doubles, while being 11-20 in just about every other counting stat. Meanwhile if you just go by % based stats, it's easy to see why he has made this team at such a young age.

Third Base
Image
Holden 'Sabertooth' Blackwell
Holden was the first played I ever traded for in the BBA. He was essentially Dusty Rhodes and Mons Raider in one. He won two Landis awards before his 21st birthday, set the all time BBA record for hits and singles in 2029 and was the leader of the Run, Run, Robins team that set the all time stolen base record in 2032 with 484 team steals. If I had to pick one player to personify my time here. It would be Holden. He tops our list in games played, at bats, hits, triples, stolen bases and batting average. After signing a huge extension, he lumped at the age of 28 and was never the same again.

Short Stop
Image
Orlando 'Sly' Medrano
This was actually a harder decision then I thought. Medrano is by far the better player. But a lot of his years preceded me. Tony Gustafsen on the other hand... put up a nice little 6 year run that has is name littered across our leaderboard. I also had to factor in that Gustafsen was one of the best defensive SS in the league at that time. But I decided to go Medrano here. Ironically, the two were traded straight up for each other.

Left Field
Image
Felipe Vega
Vega is just 23 years old, but he is fix'in to dominate these leaderboards in short order. He is already 4th in WAR, 5th in doubles, 3rd in homers, 3rd in runs, 4th in RBI, 2nd in BB, and is a fixture atop the % stats. If Brooklyn decides to lock him up long term, Vega could be the face of this franchise for a long time.

Center Field
Image
Emílio 'Sunshine' Rodríguez
When Brooklyn won the Landis in 2026, nobody took them seriously. When they traded for Sunshine weeks later, the league took notice. Sunshine was the best CF in the game at that point but his days in CF were numbered. He helped Brooklyn win the most games in the Johnson but his lumping defense was a big reason for that squads demise. Offensively Emilio was always top notch. He is 5th in WAR and 4th in HR. Sawyer Slizz looks like he might bump Rodriguez off this list before too long.

Right Field
Image
Enrique Salazar
Enrique debuted with the Robins on the same day this GM did. June 1st, 2026. He was part of a major shifting that propelled the team with the worst record in the BBA to the Landis. During his 9 year run with the team, Enrique finished with the 3rd highest WAR, 3rd most doubles and his 257 home runs as a Robin is almost double the next best.

Designated Hitter
Image
Fernando Cruz
Fernando Cruz rounds out the starting lineup. Proclaimed to be the "Most Clutch Player Ever in the BBA" by the teams GM, Fernando earned one of his 9 eye popping playoff MVP awards while with Brooklyn. His time was fairly short and sweet, but managed to put up some great numbers with the squad. He is second only to Vega in On base, slugging and not coincidently OPS while being 4th in homers and walks.

I hope to do a part two of this series for the pitchers. Spoiler alert... there is a pitcher on the list with a greater OPS then any of the batters listed above. And yes, he made my al-time team. Anyway....To view the entire Robins batting leaderboard under my watch. Click Here

Wow, I was way off. I forgot I actually had decent pitchers in 2026-2030. And Jose Morales was with us for a while with 11 stamina. Then in 2034 I put Tavio on a 250 pitch limit just to see if it was possible for him to get injured. So there is that. It's like I forgot, but seeing it all laid out makes sense.

Holy smokes! You can add this GM's vote for that title.
