Brooklyn State of Mind: Baby Robins Rotation Ready To Fire (2062.1)

2062 offers the Robins a storyline that a lot of observers are going to be watching closely. In the past couple of drafts, the Robins have put a premium on getting three exciting young pitchers. After seeing Jose Torres light up the BBA before his unfortunate knee injury, the Robins decided if one hyped young arm wasn't fun enough you might as well add another one. Larry Jensen is going to make the BBA roster out of spring training. Jensen looked very good in the minors, and his pitching developed so well that the Robins decided to promote him right away. He will make his BBA debut as the number 3 starter against Atlantic City.

Is the hype surrounding this rotation valid? Critics will say that Brooklyn is a dead end franchise who are pinning their hopes of a turnaround on a pitcher coming off a terrible injury and a rookie who has less than 10 starts at AAA level. But there is a parallel. For those that remember the fictional MLB, the Chicago Cubs had the Chicago Heat era in the 2000's. Kerry Wood, Mark Prior, Matt Clement, and Carlos Zambrano were all fairly young pitchers that when healthy electrified Chicago. It looked like they could have won a World Series if not for a certain incident against Florida. Jensen and Torres look like they are going to be stars. While 2062 for the Robins is going to require a miracle, the building blocks are in place, especially since the Robins are going to get another great player in the draft.

Stool Jensen looks like a future solid #2.
