Robins player files grievance with the players union over BNN scouting report
When you look at José Harrara's BNN player page, a lot of information is readily available. You can see he is 24 years old and has one of the best fastballs in the league. You can also see his flaws as well. His movement is average at best and his control sucks. The last two seasons he's played below replacement level. But José Harrara doesn't see any of that. The only thing he can see is this.....
"Often told he looks familiar."
That is probably the single worst thing you can say to a 6'8" 225 pound black man from the suburbs of Chicago.
"Looks familiar? What are the insinuating? That "we" all look the same?" The angry Herrera was quoted.
Was this a simple mistake or a freudian slip by the racist folks at BNN. Herrera believes it's the latter. BNN has been on damage control since the story broke. They claim this is all just a simple misunderstanding and that the little personality blurbs have absolutely no meaning. A representative from BNN told us that they are algorithms to give the web page more of a "sims" feel. And that Herrera needs to work on his adaptability and just accept it for what it is.
The league is currently looking over the accusations and plan to hand out according penalties.
