Between him and Prince at the infield corners, the Tigers are trying hard to cancel out their offense with what could be the worst defense around. Yuck.

Yes he will drink this off. And Yes he will still hit .340-35-120. The amount of Vorp or WAR or whatever you modern statheads call it is far better offensively over the Tigers' 3B's last season (Inge, Betemit, Kelly). Far more than whatever is lost defensively, esp when your ace strikes out 250 guys a year. If Panda can play 3B in SF, then why cant Miggy??

All told, you're still looking at a division winner whether Miguel has 3 errors or 30 errors. I'm sure all of the statheads and saber guys will pull out whatever UZR or defensive efficiency they can to prove that the Tigers suck, and thats fine. But the fact remains that they are universally accepted as the team most likely to win its division. As long as we win, I don't care!

High expectations in the winter create great disappointment in August and September. Don't count your chickens before they hatch, been there, done that.

We did that too in 2008. That said, this team is a lot younger and is strong defensively up the middle. Peralta, Inge, and Jackson? Yeah, I'll take that defensively.

As long as Cabrera doesn't make 162 errors. Then again, he's only made one this entire spring (the debacle the other day was a horrible bounce and ruled a hit), so there's hope...

Inge at second base, which he's never played before?

For which he's receiving rave reviews to this point in ST.

The hitting, however...
