2020 Brewster Writer's Association MLB Hall of Fame Ballot

Post by jleddy » Fri Nov 22, 2019 3:05 pm

Using the current Baseball Hall of Fame ballot (narrowed down to the top-20* in career WAR due to the poll's ability to only allow 20 options), please vote who you would vote for if you were a member of the BBWAA.

*Made editorial decision to leave off #20 Josh Beckett for #23 Billy Wagner

Surprised the unanimous support for Clemens, but not bonds. Sosa is the only one i have no respect for. I think its more the corked bat and therefore the history of cheating that I dont like about sosa.

I am a big fan of "put them all in the hall" and then appropriately characterize it as the steroid era. Nothing else makes sense to me. Im sure there are guys in the hall who used them too. Once we find out someone like Jeff Bagwell, Roberto Alomar, Vlad Gurrero or Chipper Jones used steroids...what are we going to do then?

But vote for Clemens? Bonds was good before the steroids. He just became a HR threat after. He was good for baseball fan wise, maybe not integrity wise. Lol

I consider it just as much MLB's problem for not taking care of it as it is the players problem.

It’s a personal preference. Would he have broken the most cherished record in all of sports without steroids?

No. Screw that guy.
