Never leave till the end, you paid for it you watch it lol. Why bother going if you’re not intending to actually watch the game?

100% agree. Unless it’s a rain delay and the game is out of hand. That’s the worst

My rule of thumb is typically never leave a game early. But I have.

Worst was last year. I took my kids to a game in Cincinnati and it went extra innings. We had tickets to the Dave Matthews Band show later that night and we needed to shower and eat before the show. We left in about the 12th inning. The Reds won it on a walk-off an inning later. My oldest son was not too pleased.

Only other time I recall leaving early was I went to the final game of the season one time. Meaningless game. Neither team was in the hunt. Most boring game I've ever been to. I think I left about the 7th inning. I"ve seen too many late inning heroics to ever leave a game early without some sort of circumstance dictating the leave.

I think that with any sporting event my rule is to not leave if I have a team in the game. There have been times when I have left early and when I worked as a football scout I would always be gone early, for a variety of reasons.

If a game is good and engaging and there is something riding on the result though then definitely do not leave early.

I think if you have kids along do what needs to be done but in general never leave til it’s over. The best moments in sports can pop up anywhere/anytime.

I'm disappointed none of you have made the joke yet about Chris needing to shower before a DMB show. I mean, no one else does.

I think the Reds were playing the Pirates and I have a rule that if I may have come into contact with anyone from the city of Pittsburgh I have to shower off. I can't be catching what any of those people have!

I'll admit that I will leave before the top of the ninth or before the bottom of the ninth if the game seems out of hand. This is just to avoid traffic as my drive to Cincy is about an hour. Waiting until the game is over can easily add 30 minutes or more to that drive.
