He's .240/.388/.490, which is about the same as least year. Maybe not what they thought they paid for, but not awful. So he goes 0-4 with 2k's and an error, and they boo him. Why does anyone want to play there? That's not an unusual night for any baseball player. It happens. I don't know if the Phillies boo more people than every other franchise, but I can tell you there are a ton of cities where this doesn't happen. If I were a player, I don't think I'd consider going there at all.

Love it!! Meanwhile... Victor Robles is hitting .255/.301/.481 and has 7 SBs and isnt ARB eligible until 2022. Seems like a nice cost savings.

Yeah. Baseball fans are not known for their patience, though. Baltimore fans were not particularly kind to Chris Davis.

But, yes, whether this is real or not, Philadelphia fans do seem to go a bit over the top.

That said, I don't think Bryce Harper's deal was a very good one for Philadelphia. But that's just me and my angst over long-term deals.

As the then-controversial owner Charlie Finley figured out (back when owners were often controversial), the shorter the deal, the better it is for the team...the perfect system was one where every player should be a free agent every year.

I wonder what BBA player Harper resembles the most and I also wonder what his contract would look like in BBA dollars...
