One of the best games I've ever seen. Close to the Gibson homer. Nail bitter Roberts needs to win manager of the year. And if you didn't watch Kershaw came in the ninth with one out to get the save.

That god damn Gibson homer still haunts me in my sleep. Gimpy bastard. Have to tip my cap to him now, but my 12 year old self cried buckets.

I can't imagine how that must've felt. That HR still gets a huge ovation when they play it in Dodger Stadium.nerfHerder wrote:leejay56 wrote:One of the best games I've ever seen. Re: LAD/WAS
Roberts has done amazing this year, I'm very happy with him. Jansen gave it everything yesterday. Should have been pulled before Harper's AB but it all worked out.leejay56 wrote:One of the best games I've ever seen. Close to the Gibson homer. Nail bitter Roberts needs to win manager of the year. Hopefully this helps to get rid of the "Kershaw copies chokes in the playoffs" narrative.

It hurt for a long time. "Eck" was untouchable, and as a kid I didn't know any better. All I was thinking was that he would take out an injured Gibson and I would be jumping through the house. Now as an adult I appreciate the moment a little more. What a heck of an at bat by a warrior. The beauty of baseball.

Re: LAD/WAS
Yeah, as a Nats fan I watched the game to the bitter end. I'm actually less upset than I thought I would be - sadly, I think I've come to expect the October collapse (I'm a Caps fan too, so I'm really getting good at rooting for teams with great regular seasons and terrible playoffs). Roberts did do an amazing job for the Dodgers this year, and they are a likable team. Kershaw is amazing. However, I don't think they have a chance against the Cubs.

Re: LAD/WAS
As a Dodger fan i have come to expect the same October collapse from the Dodgers. With baseball I don't think there's such a thing as a team with no chance to win a series, but absolutely the Cubs are the favorites. I just can't see writing off the team with the best pitcher in baseball.

Re: LAD/WAS
I haven't made it to DC for a game yet. I live on the other side of the state. Takes me about 7 hours to get to DC. I've only been a hockey fan for about 4-5 years now. Went to my first game 2 years ago in Columbus to watch Caps-Blue Jackets. Followed that up by driving to Raleigh to watch Caps-Canes. Sat on the glass behind the penalty box (my middle son actually got on tv that night for pounding on the glass when a guy got put in the box).Bisbo wrote:I usually go to 5-6 games a year.7teen wrote:Bisbo wrote:Yeah, as a Nats fan I watched the game to the bitter end. I try to make a point to go to a game a year now, usually Raleigh since its about 4.5 hours away. Plus I have a buddy that lives in the Charlotte area I'll meet up with and he'll go with us. We're planning to head back that way in a few weeks for when Caps play Carolina on November 12
