DH in the NL?

What do you guys think? Growing up in an AL city that switched to the NL, I prefer no DH. There is a layer of strategy added when you have to account for a crappy pitcher batting.

There is nothing I would like more than getting rid of pitcher batting forever.

Grew up an Expos fan. Have never liked it, will never liked it.

As I said elsewhere, I like seeing pitchers hit. For me the DH add nothing and takes away a lot. But I'm pretty well resigned to it happening.

I always hated the DH, now, I like having one league 'with' and one league 'without',

it makes each league's game distinct and enjoyable...and it helps me appreciate both...I hope it doesn't change

If they keep doing this inter league crap the rules need to be the same. I prefer no DH but I also would prefer both having it versus only one having it.

Seems like such a huge advantage for the AL in the WS, too. Even the best NL team can't trot much better than a replacement level bat out in the DH slot for away games.

Interleague is dumb, and it adds nothing to the game. I wish MLB would scrap it.

Yep. Get rid of inter league play. If you want, let there be ONE rivalry series each year (Mets-Yanks, Nats-O's, Angels-Dodgers, Oakland-SF, etc.) Let each league be different.

It used to be cool to see the Mets-Yankees play...now I hardly even notice it.

I agree with the "scrap inter league" talk. It really has watered down the excitement of seeing the AL/NL match up in the World Series. I also agree with the advantage that the AL has in the World Series due to the DH being in only one league. I think we all need to accept the fact that it's here to stay, and will be in both leagues soon. The players union runs the show, and they favor it.

As an NL fan I hate the DH, but it is a massive disadvantage for the NL in the world series, which does bother me.

I think the "strategy" in having the pitcher bat is overplayed. It's there, but I don't really miss it much when watching AL games. I'm with everyone about it being an unfair advantage for the AL, and it being extra silly in the incredibly needless inter-league games.

That said, I don't really care what they do much. It's going to happen because the players union wants 15 more guys getting paid. It's just a matter of when.

I'm with you, it's going to happen. The double switch will effectively go away. The only other thing is the decision to pull a starting pitcher who maybe isn't out of gas left, for a pinch hitter to increase your chance to drive in a RISP. That decision can make or break a game.
