I'm not an idiot, but I don't have a clue what this is really about. Like the sport hasn't taken enough hits...

Keep them locked out as long as it takes to get a salary cap and floor.

Union needs better leadership. I liked Tony Clark as a player for the Tigers but he's been in over his head from day one as the leader of the MLBPA.

Tony is listening to his boss Scott Boras. He’s looking to get as much for the Bryce Harpers of the league and doesn’t care about the Tyler Anderson types which is why the middle tier of MLBPA keep seeing their salaries shrink while the big guys get bank.

MLB needs to come with a serious offer. They locked out the players and then didn't do anything for what, six weeks? Fucking clowns.

There's already a bit of a salary cap as it is.

The owners could meet the players half way right now, and the owners would be huge winners. Once the various contracts came about that the owners could make profits without winning, this was pretty much the path we got on. The owners need to make something happen here.

That said, the players would be a bit more sympathetic if they were working to help swaths of minor league players, too.

The luxury tax acts as a de facto cap. Not sure why the players don’t push for a hardship tax that taxes teams that don’t spend over ‘x’ amount. Yes I know it’ll be basically a cap system, but it would be earning players more money.

So am I understanding that the players are willing to have a 14 team playoffs with the first round a best of 3 series. The top seed is awarded a “win” before the first game is played?

Absolutely hate the new playoffs, but not all that surprised. Hate the banned shift and makes no sense. Hate the MLB right now.

Actually it isn’t anything exciting and has barely anything to do with baseball. Good thing, because she never played and probably doesn’t know the rules.

Her degree is in television production and engineering. Meaning working in a TV control room, directing shows, etc. knowing how all the tech works. So MLB has people that monitor the replay cameras to make sure they are working correctly, I guess aimed at the right place, etc. instead of having a person at each game, they save money by having a person monitor the cameras remotely for 3-4 games at once. So that is the job. Sit on my couch with her laptop open and getting paid good money for it. So the sooner they go back to work the sooner she can earn some bucks and stop watching stupid shit on Netflix!

Umm tell her employer I will do it for $1 less than your daughter. Sounds like a dream job.
