I know this was a joke, but I actually recall something similiar happening to my freshman homeroom teacher when I was a junior in high school. The FBI caught him fishing for kiddie porn in chat rooms and raided him/his computer. I remember hearing that his myspace/facebook pages (where he had kept HW assignments and stuff) had been erased shortly after the news broke - which seemed odd because he obviously wasn't in any position to do it while in custody.

I know we weren't besties, but I sincerely hope that Matt is right and he just decided to try channeling his inner Henry David Thoreau.
