Favorite statistical year for fictional league
I like picking one year as the statistical basis for every season of a fictional league. My current preference is 1986 as I think it represents the best balance of all categories. Some might find that year boring despite the infamous WS that year. And of course some might find locking the stats year for every year of a fictional season is boring! But I like to be able to do a cleaner comparison of players despite playing decades apart. Curious if others prefer one year of any other and why.

Re: Favorite statistical year for fictional league
Historical starts always loved 69 - even made my own quickstart back in OOTP 6.5. expansion teams, perfect setup (2 divisions of 6, no interleague so can play one team in each league!) for knowing every team inside out.
Statistical basis is of course terrible unless you like bunting. But the games go quick!
